How To Dress Sliding Glass Doors

Things to consider...

Sliding glass doors have the biggest expanse of glass in a home, and so give us our best views!

To decorate, look at your slider as a piece of art, because your view is exactly that. Now decorate that art with a picture frame, the frame being the valance across the top and drapes on the sides!

When choosing your "picture frame", think of some practical matters... Do you use that door often? Do you have small children and/or pets? If the answer is a yes, then a valance without the drapes, would be best.

Now look around the room and consider your colors. You can order free fabric samples at http://diyvalances.com/Fabric_Finder.aspx

    About Us

    Our story:

Fifteen years ago a friend and I were causally chatting about starting a business …How could we produce a select number of valances to the general public in a retail store situation, with a quick turnaround, and at an affordable price, using good quality interior fabrics. We wanted more than the “off the shelf” quality and styles.
Eight years later I opened my own custom window treatment workroom and design center called The Drapery Company, in Tampa, Florida. However, the quick turnaround valance idea still hovered in the back of my mind especially as online buying habit grew.
The girls and I played around with designs and ideas at the Drapery Company workroom.

This is how our valances looked in the beginning

The idea, the designs, the fabric selections and the process to make it all happen came together slowly.

This is how our valances look now!

A web designer was hired and...
Three years into development, with a patent to our name we went live.
It takes a good team, the right atmosphere and lots of excited screaming. We have realized that most of the time we don’t work …..we play!
We know you will enjoy playing too. So come build a valance along with us!
